Q: How did you come in contact with uA? What was your first experience?
A: I played L4D2 on the Xbox 360 before, almost to a point where I got sick of the gameplay. After that, I moved on to PC gaming and played Garry’s Mod and Team Fortress 2 most of the time. After I got bored of the ecstatic hat-collectors and constant minge-bags, I moved on to Left 4 Dead 2 for Steam. When I was younger, I was afraid of branching out to other games, but in the end, it turned out to be worthwhile.
My first encounters with the XPM servers were really fun, and the the regulars were glad to help out. It was so different from the normal L4D2 gameplay, it was like playing a hidden minigame. The person that sponsored my member application was DoomReaper. Four scores and seven years later, I found out I was offered an admin position, and gladly accepted it.
Q: You produce music. Mostly EDM. Are there any other genres you produce for or that you are interested in producing in the future?
A: Yes, I produce and compose music for a variety of music genres. I currently have experience with writing alternative/rock, and mixing electronic/dubstep/trance. To be honest, I’ve always wanted to branch out to more genres as I’ve grown older.
Hollywood Undead, Mindless Self Indulgence, Deuce, and Jeffree Star are inspiring me to write scenecore/rapcore. Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, Jakalope, Rob Zombie, Kittie, and Marilyn Manson are inspiring me to write more industrial/metal. Voltaire and Rasputina are even inspiring me to write old-fashioned, gothic-esque big band/swing compositions.
Q: What inspired you to start producing music?
A: It was probably a way to vent my frustration and anger. I started composing/producing when I was about 12 or 13. Surprisingly, my original inspirations were grunge, classic rock, punk, and post-grunge bands.
Most of my first inspirations stemmed from Nirvana, Blur, Oasis, Jimi Hendrix, Foo Fighters, Beck, Linkin Park, Green Day, Jefferson Airplane, Switchfoot, Garbage, Incubus, Breaking Benjamin, Cold, Papa Roach, Deftones, Third Eye Blind, Kasabian, Veruca Salt, Jack Off Jill, Scarling, Three Days Grace, Silversun Pickups, Gorillaz, H Is Orange, Lowline, KoRn, Slipknot, Rolling Stones, and Puddle Of Mudd.
After I decided to branch out to the electronic side of music, I could say my inspirations were either very mainstream or very obscure. Some of them included Tiesto, The Prodigy, Daft Punk, Madeon, Excision, Fatboy Slim, Deadmau5, Skrillex, David Guetta, Krewella, Offer Nissim, Justice, Nicky Romero, Kaskade, Pendulum, John B, Alien Crew, Knife Party, Bassnectar, Porter Robinson, Avicii, Tweaker Ray, Binary Audio, Jagz Kooner, Zedd, Hardwell, Basshunter, Scooter, DotExe, and SkisM.
Q: Other than L4D2, What other games do you play? What’s your favorite game type?
A: Oh gosh, there’s too many games I’ve played to list completely. My favorite genres would have to be first-and-third-person shooters, action and stealth, simulation, puzzle and trivia, and adventure games. I guess I’ll list some of my favourites. I won’t include the sequels, though, because chances are that I’ve already played them when I grew out of my “nostalgic post-ironic hipster” phase.
I have played Team Fortress, Garry’s Mod, Portal, Half Life, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Left 4 Dead, Saints Row, Leisure Suit Larry, Metal Gear Solid, FarCry, Duke Nukem, Crysis, Diablo, SimCity, Borderlands, Assassin’s Creed, Zoo Tycoon, Ape Escape, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Final Fantasy, Battlefield, Grand Theft Auto, Payday, The Sims, You Don’t Know Jack, Poker Night At The Inventory, Surgeon Simulator, American McGee’s Alice, I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream, Counter-Strike, Don’t Starve, Amnesia, Stronghold Crusader, Pharaoh And Cleopatra, Slender, Medal Of Honor, Killing Floor, Call of Duty, Harvest Moon, Animal Crossing, MySims, Game Dev Tycoon, The Guild, Arma, Total War, Children Of The Nile, Prison Tycoon, Bioshock, Just Cause, HitMan, Dead Island, Guns Of Icarus, and BookWorm Deluxe.
